POSITION SUMMARY
The Press Operator operates production presses to manufacture prepreg and copper foil for copper clad laminate substrates. This role follows established press operating procedures, coordinates with multiple production teams, and supports safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate OEM hot oil presses, motorized conveyor systems, Oracle GUI, and press data logging systems.
- Follow press operating procedures and load correct recipes into presses.
- Load, monitor, and verify press cycles to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Prepare laminate books, including thermocouple placement, for press loading.
- Maintain steady workflow through setup and breakdown areas.
- Coordinate caul plate rotation to maximize press availability and efficiency.
- Enter accurate lot and production data into Oracle GUI.
- Communicate with setup, breakdown, layup, and copper cutting teams to ensure smooth operations.
- Ensure upcoming press loads are staged and ready.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow all safety rules and wear required personal protective equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Manufacturing or press operation experience preferred.
- Ability to follow detailed work instructions and recipes.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and system use.
- Strong attention to detail and quality.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
LANGUAGE REQUIREMENT
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
- Ability to lift, move, and carry up to 25 lbs.
- Ability to climb stairs, bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch as needed.
- Ability to hear and communicate clearly in a production environment.
- Visual abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception.
WORK ENVIRONMENT & SAFETY
- Work is performed in a manufacturing environment and may include exposure to varying temperatures or weather conditions.
- Compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies is required.
